At HEWC, we turn goals into steps, and steps into measurable wins. We partner with unions, K-12 districts, colleges, employers, and families to remove barriers, improve follow-through, and help people persist, return, and thrive—with dignity and data.

Why we exist

Too many capable people are blocked by systems, timing, or uncertainty. We build clear pathways and the support rhythms that make progress inevitable.

Our story (heart + backbone)

Named after my Nana, Helene Elizabeth, our center stands on resilience and possibility. I left high school at 16, worked my way through college, and built a 27-year career across higher education, workforce, and accessibility.   • Unions (MemberAlliance™): 30–60 day stabilization, documentation follow-through, and return-to-work planning—without extra lift for stewards.

  • K-12 (DOE-Ready): IEP-aligned transition, college & career readiness, family navigation, and staff PD that sticks.

  • Higher Education: persistence support, accommodation alignment, re-enrollment moments, and light KPI dashboards.

  • Employers: inclusive hiring pipelines, interview days, job carving, and supervisor enablement for retention.

  • ACCES-VR / Disability Employment: vocational evaluation, customized employment, assistive tech recommendations, and coaching.
